Frankfurt & Heidleberg

Yesterday we visited Frankfrut and Heidelberg (Blueberry Mountain). We traveled on the Main River which is 329 miles long and has 34 locks in Germany. Unfortunately the internet is starting to get very difficult to access so we will post  as often as possible.

We docked in Frankfurt and had a panoramic coach tour before heading to Heidleberg for a tour of the castle and lunch in the town with a walking tour and then we headed for a walk in our free time.

Docking at Frankfurt.

Heidleberg Castle

These large casks of wine were enormous there was even one that 35 people could dance on. To clean the cask they would send children inside to clean them through the small door and some even died due to the toxic fumes etc.

The township of Heidleberg.

I will let you work out what the sign says by looking at the black cat.

This gate was built in 1799.

This is the restaurant we had lunch in.

The goddess Athena.

View from the philosophers walk we did.
