Sacre Coeur - Church

Today we went to the street markets at Bastille, which we lovely, so fresh and bright as you can see from the flower and vegetable stands.

This is a typical little suburban fruit shop, and it is so good at the moment because it is summer here we are able to have cherries, peaches etc for breakfast, what a hardship but somebody has to do it.

This church looked so incredibly old to us as we were walking the streets of Bastille.

The Hotel de Ville the town hall, another impressive building.

Street corner and pont (bridge) over the Seine.

This apartment block was so beautiful with all the plants and flowers on the little patios.

This is the strangest building the Pompidou Centre it has everything on the outside of the building like plumbing, lifts, elevators and air conditioning. It houses the modern art musee (museum).

The Sacre Coeur is the highest landmark in Paris besides the Eiffel Tower.
Because of this of course there are more stairs, I would hate to think how many we climbed to get into the church to have a look, it was quite unusual the church service was actually being held but they don't stop you going through and viewing the church at the same time, so the bonus for us was we got to hear the wonderful pipe organ being played.

Another of these amazing carousels with two stories for the horses, at the bottom of the hill that the church stand on.

The views from the top make all those steps seem worth it.

A typical little cafe, they are so cute.

This house really caught your eye, it was so unusually for these surroundings but so beautiful.

We finished the day going to the Moulin Rouge stage show. If only everyone could see this show, it was amazing the back drops and stage sets, just changed constantly along with the performers going through so many costume changes you couldn't count. This show was probably the best I have ever seen.

Till tomorrow.
