Rousse Bulgaria & Anniversary

Last night we again had the opportunity to dine in the Sky Lounge with everyone, it was a wonderful night.

The ship docked in Rouse which is the fifth largest city in Bulgaria and the countries chief river port on the Danube. We boarded the buses for our excursion to Varna.

Varna is the third largest city in Bulgaria and the country’s biggest city on the Black Sea. The ambiance is cosmopolitan.

We visited this museum which houses the oldest gold in the world, designed more than 3,000 years ago during the ancient and mysterious civilisation of the Thracians. It is dated from 4400 years before Christ which is 10 years ahead of the Egypt pharaoh’s gold. It also houses gods and goddesses from the 5^th millennium before Christ.

We then had lunch at Mr Baba a restaurant on the Black Sea made into a Ship we were fortunate enough to dine on the deck in the breeze with the beautiful breezes.

The Captains Farewell Dinner was held in the evening, as we entered our room our friends had ordered a bottle of champagne for us to celebrate our 10^th wedding anniversary and after the dinner was served the waiters all came to the table singing “You are my sunshine” with a cake to also celebrate with. So we all headed to the deck to have cake and champagne which was a lovely way to end the day.
